Don't get that Botox, bitches!

I posted the poem (below) on social media and got quite a reaction - people were very kind, saying lovely supportive things.

However, as I said in my post, this wasn't really about me, but about all the people who feel this way.

I posted it because I recently saw a photo of a well known celebrity who I follow on Instagram. I like their body positive message. In the photo it was clear she had ended up with fillers or Botox or both (I'm no expert on this) and I thought what a shame she felt the need to do that, however I understand the pressure we are under to look a certain way and that pressure must increase ten fold when you are in the public eye.

I admire women (and men) in the celebrity sphere that don't feel the need to do any of those things, I look at Emma Thompson, Judy Dench and Helen Mirren for inspiration - wonderfully beautiful woman who are just naturally them. I honestly feel there is an ugliness to what all these plastic surgeons and injections etc can do to a woman's face. If you look at Renee Zellwegger - the difference is horrifying.

I have talked about this before here and here and probably countless other times - I'm getting old - I repeat myself! But I think it is an important message to everybody, young and old. It doesn't matter what you look like it and I know it's a cliche but if you are beautiful on the inside it will shine through.

I would like to apologise for the title of this blog I have been binge watching Orange is the new Black on Netflix (I know, I'm late to the game) and I think it's rubbing off on me. Now, there is a whole host of naturally beautiful women #justsaying.

Anyway, as always if you like this please like and share - Thanks x
